Cris Riviere

Cris has been a member of the ACTS family for more than 10 years. He has contributed to the success of ACTS with his forward and collaborative thinking processes and specializes in strategic development and program implementation. Cris’ expertise in program development and implementation resulted in the ACTS Amethyst Respite Center (ARC) which is the first and only inebriate shelter in Hillsborough County. Prior to serving as the Interim COO, Cris served as the Administrator of Acute Care Services for ACTS, where he assumed leadership for the adult and youth addiction receiving facilities, the Outpatient Detox Program, and the Medication Clinic which provides psychiatric evaluation and medication services. He also served as Director of Supportive Housing and Director of Forensic Services for ACTS. Most recently, Cris has been instrumental in the development, implementation, and direction of ACTS very first Medication Assistance Treatment (MAT) Program which serves as a direct response to the Opioid Crisis and aims at decreasing opioid dependency. Cris has more than 15 years of experience in the behavioral health, co-occurring/mental health, and substance abuse fields, and working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Cris continues to collaborate and identify innovative ways of bridging the gap of substance abuse and mental health services while providing a Comprehensive, Continuous, Integrated System of Care (CCISC) best practice with local community providers, hospitals, law enforcement, court administration, and universities Cris holds certifications as a Masters Certified Addictions Professional (MCAP) and a Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Counselor (CCJAC) through the Florida Certification Board. He is the Vice President of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Advisory Council and the sole Multicultural Professional Development Provider at ACTS. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Kentucky University with a major in Sociology and minor in Criminology and a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University.
