James L. Swiger is a seasoned healthcare professional with extensive experience in project management and health sciences. Currently serving as a Project Officer and Health Scientist Administrator at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality since June 2020, James leads the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Clinical Decision Support program. Prior experience includes roles at the FDA, where James managed a professional development program and served as Deputy Division Director overseeing the Medical Product Safety Network, as well as acting as a lead reviewer for orthopedic and spine devices. James began their career as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO and held research positions at both the National Institutes of Health and Kensey Nash Corporation. Academically, James holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from The Catholic University of America.
