Andrea Melo-Newman

Andrea Melo-Newman has accumulated over 20 years of professional experience. In 1997, they began their career as a Marketing Specialist at Nortel Networks, where they supported residential and commercial sales of telephone land lines, worked hand-in-hand with the sales department, and designed marketing collateral. In 1999, they co-founded and became a Managing Partner at Artists & Associates, an uber-style booking system for event photographers. In 2007, they co-founded inQbation, an incubator and accelerator of startups that created economic opportunities and jobs for people with great potential but limited opportunities. The company grew rapidly and in late 2014, they decided to pivot to DC based federal agencies. In 2015, Melo-Newman co-founded Agileana, providing digital services and systems integration to government agencies, member associations, nonprofits, and higher education. Andrea has a passion for design, user experiences, and efficiency.

Andrea Melo-Newman completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana between 1994 and 1999. Andrea then attended University of California, Berkeley from 2002 to 2003, studying Accounting.
