Adam Phillipps

Adam Phillipps has a diverse work experience in various roles. Adam started their career at Backcountry.com as a Salesperson in 2007 and then worked as a Business Development Associate at Informatech llc. from 2008 to 2009. Adam also worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Seamless.com in 2010 and later joined Instructure, Inc. as a Software Engineer in Test from 2012 to 2017, where they built both manual and automated integration test suites.

In 2017, Adam joined Western Governors University as a Senior Systems Engineer, specializing in Cloud, code, and DevOps. Adam successfully created and migrated applications, systems, and security tools to Infrastructure as Code on a hybrid environment. Adam also served as a Senior Cloud Engineer and was responsible for designing and deploying infrastructure on AWS, including Active Directory integration.

In 2014, Adam became self-employed as a Senior Software Engineer, where they solved difficult problems for their customers and gained experience in areas such as architecture, web apps, data mining, and basic machine learning modeling.

From 2019 to 2021, Adam worked at Overstock.com, first as a Machine Learning Engineer on the Core Optimization Team and later as a Machine Learning DevOps Engineer. In these roles, they improved model and app source code, designed ML systems, and built and maintained systems that hosted models and served inferences.

Adam then joined Heyday Now in 2021 as the Chief Technology Officer, where they were responsible for architecture, domain design, engineering, software development life cycle, machine learning, QA, and Agile processes. Adam architect internal systems and reduced internal expenses by over 70%.

Most recently, in 2023, Adam joined Agility as the Vice President of Product and Data Strategy.

Adam Phillipps attended Salt Lake Community College from 2013 to 2014, where they earned an Associate's Degree in Computer Science.
