Mike Norrell

Mike Norrell is currently the Vice President of Operations at Agility Robotics. Mike has held this position since December of 2017. Prior to their current role, Mike was the Vice President of Operations at Bossa Nova Robotics from December 2016 to December 2017.

At Bossa Nova, Mike was responsible for developing the Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) growth strategy for the company. Mike also established strategic objectives, organizational structures, functional areas, key metrics, and vendor relationships necessary to ramp up from 20 to 1000 robots over a 24 month time frame. Mike was also responsible for scaling the operations business from 12 to 150 people responsible for deploying, monitoring, and servicing more than 600 autonomous shelf-scanning robots in busy retail environments internationally.

In their role at Bossa Nova, Mike also instituted client services, process improvement, product development, quality assurance, testing, and training programs to facilitate company growth while maintaining high fleet performance. Mike also orchestrated outsourcing of critical robot services and off-shoring of operations center for over 100 personnel within a period of eight weeks. Furthermore, Mike generated cost analyses and up to $30M budget models to sustain 14x growth over 12 month period. In their role, Mike regularly interfaced with corporate executive staff, board of directors, and private equity investors.

Mike Norrell has a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, a Green Belt Certification in Lean/Six Sigma from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Science & Technology from Penn State University. Mike also has certification from the University of Pittsburgh in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and from the Project Management Institute in Project Management Professional.
