Jacques Braamse

Jacques Braamse has an extensive work experience in the field of internal audit and SOX compliance. Jacques is currently working as a Senior Director Internal Audit at agilon health since May 2023. Prior to this, Jacques worked at BitSight as the Head of Internal Audit and SOX compliance, where they were responsible for designing and implementing internal control frameworks, risk assessment, monitoring of financial and IT General controls, and finance transformation initiatives. However, they were laid off from BitSight in March 2023. Before BitSight, Jacques held the position of Senior Director - Internal Audit and SOX at Cybereason, where their responsibilities included ICFR design, implementation, and monitoring of financial and IT General controls, operational internal audits, InfoSec alignment, finance transformation initiatives, and ERM implementation. Jacques also worked as the Director of Internal Control, Audit & SOX Compliance at Mimecast from February 2019 to September 2021. Prior to that, they worked as an Internal Audit Manager at Brookfield Properties and Risk Assurance Manager at PwC UK. Jacques gained significant experience as an Internal Audit Manager and Regional Internal Audit Lead at Mitsubishi Corporation, where they were responsible for SOX control implementation, risk assessment, ERM alignment, and operational audit. Early in their career, Jacques worked as an Internal Audit Manager at Lloyds Banking Group, Audit Senior at Deloitte, and Auditor at BDO South Africa.

Jacques Braamse has a diverse education history. Jacques obtained a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 1999-2002, focusing on auditing. Jacques also pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in auditing from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2004-2005. In 2003-2006, Jacques attended the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, earning a CA degree in Accounting and Business/Management. Jacques later pursued further studies in information technology, obtaining a CISA degree from ISACA in 2012-2013. Jacques completed their education by earning an MIIA degree in Auditing from the Institute of Chartered Internal Auditors in 2013-2016. Jacques also holds certifications such as the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA and the PRINCE2™ 2017 Practitioner from PRINCE2™ online qualifications Coventry University. Jacques maintains professional development through certification exams such as the AuditBoard Certified SOXHUB Administrator Exam.
