Kris Depew

Director/fellow, Process Chemistry/cmc at Agios Pharmaceuticals

Kris Depew has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Starting in 1996 as a Graduate Student at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Kris later joined Pfizer as a Research Scientist in 2001. At Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Kris held various roles, including Senior Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry and Lead Senior Scientist in DOS Libraries and Medicinal Chemistry. They were responsible for synthesizing inhibitors and designing Diversity-Oriented Synthesis (DOS) Libraries. Kris also worked at Agios Pharmaceuticals as an Associate Director/Principal Scientist and currently serves as the Director/Fellow in Process Chemistry/CMC. Overall, Kris has extensive experience in process chemistry, CMC, pharmaceutical development, and library synthesis.

Kris Depew has an extensive education history. In 1987, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from UCLA. Following this, they attended Yale University from 1992 to 1993, where they earned a Master of Arts degree in Organic Chemistry. They then pursued further education at Columbia University from 1993 to 1997, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Organic Chemistry. Subsequently, from 1997 to 2000, Kris engaged in post-doctoral research at Harvard University, focusing on Solid Phase Library Methodology and Development. Prior to university, Kris attended North Hollywood High School from 1984 to 1987.
