Benjamin Bédard

Benjamin Ball has extensive experience in information technology and security, currently serving as Information Security Engineer II and previously as Information Security Associate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since March 2017. Demonstrating expertise as a PCNSE-Certified Firewall Subject Matter Expert, Benjamin is responsible for optimizing firewall configurations and enhancing security posture. Earlier roles include Computer Support Specialist, where responsibilities ranged from developing technical documentation to supporting hardware and software for campus IT services. Prior to UAB, Benjamin worked at Geek Squad as a Desktop Support Technician, contributing to the location's top ranking and training new hires. Benjamin is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a minor in Software Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, expected to graduate in 2026, following a high school diploma from Shades Valley Pre-Engineering Academy in 2012.
