Minos Garofalakis is an accomplished professional in the field of computer science, currently serving as the Director of the Information Management Systems Institute (IMSI) at the "Athena" Research and Innovation Center since May 2017. Their academic career includes a professorship at the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the Technical University of Crete, along with leadership roles such as Director of the Software Technology and Network Applications Laboratory (SoftNet) and Chair of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. Minos co-founded Agora Labs in March 2022 and serves as the Director of Research. Previous industry experience includes tenure at Amazon Web Services as a Consulting Senior Principal Scientist, and positions at Lynkeus Srl, Information Society SA, Yahoo! Research, the University of California, Berkeley, Intel Research Berkeley, and Bell Labs. Minos holds an MSc and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras.
