Selen Erkan

Selen Erkan is an AI Research Scientist at the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, having begun this role in November 2023. Previously, Selen served as a Masters Thesis Student at the Technical University of Munich, focusing on Alzheimer's Disease detection and skin mole classification, and worked on methodologies involving contrastive learning and multimodal data integration. Selen's experience includes a working student position in data science and deep learning at Agrilution, where deep learning models were developed to generate artificial plant data, alongside web tool enhancements. Prior to that, Selen participated in various internships and projects, including work with the BMW Group, IBM, and JotForm, developing machine learning algorithms and conducting time-series forecasts. Selen holds a Master's degree in Data Science from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University.
