Sam Morris is a skilled scientist with extensive experience in microbiology and genetic engineering. At AgThera Inc., Sam has designed and engineered over 1,000 antimicrobial peptide and antigen expression systems in probiotic species since May 2019. Previously, as an undergraduate researcher at the UGA Department of Microbiology from August 2017 to May 2019, Sam managed an independent research project on membrane transport systems in Helicobacter pylori while balancing a full-time course load. Additionally, during a summer role as a field technician at the UGA Center for Applied Genetic Technologies in 2018, Sam oversaw corn field management and contributed to the development of Digital Imaging of Root Traits for plant analysis. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Georgia.
