Olaka Joseph Derrick

Olaka Joseph Derrick has a diverse work experience in various roles related to business intelligence, data analysis, and IT support. Olaka has worked as a Tech Lead in BI and Reporting at Ahold Delhaize since 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Data and Machine Learning Engineer at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. from 2018 to 2022. Olaka also worked as a Business Intelligence Specialist at CMIS Group from 2015 to 2018 and as an IT Specialist in Business Intelligence at ING from 2013 to 2015. Olaka started their career as a Business Intelligence Trainee at Young Colfield as part of the ING Top Engineer Program from 2013 to 2014. Olaka also gained experience as a Business Intelligence and Reporting Intern at TomTom in 2012. Before transitioning into the field of data and IT, Olaka worked as a Teaching Assistant at Makerere University in 2009 and as an Information Technology Technician at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) from 2008 to 2010. Olaka'searly career included an IT Trainee role at Jubilee Insurance Company of Uganda Limited in 2007. Overall, Olaka Joseph Derrick has a strong background in business intelligence, data analysis, and IT support, with experience in various industries and organizations.

Olaka Joseph Derrick received a Masters of Science in Business Information Systems from Eindhoven University of Technology in 2010-2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Makerere University in 2005-2008. Olaka completed their pre-university education at Ntare School in 2003-2004, earning the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (U.A.C.E) with a focus on Science. In addition to their academic degrees, Olaka Joseph Derrick has obtained several certifications in various fields such as Java programming, data analysis, and scrum methodology.
