Wouter Nijmeijer has a diverse range of work experience. Wouter currently holds the position of External Member of the Audit Committee at the Ministry of Finance since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Ahold Delhaize from 2017 to 2019, where they served as the Senior Vice President of Tax and Accounting and later the Senior Vice President of Accounting & Reporting, Risk & Controls. In these roles, they provided financial leadership, strategic direction, and oversaw the design and execution of various functions within the company. Before their time at Ahold Delhaize, Wouter was a Partner at KPMG Accountants N.V. for over 22 years, where they gained extensive experience in auditing and advising international clients. Wouter also had a brief period as a Partner on secondment at KPMG LLP in Chicago, USA, where they provided audit support and advice to European multinational companies. Additionally, Wouter has held treasurer positions at Stichting Buurtalliantie and Stichting Vluchtelingenwerk Haarlemmermeer, and worked as an audit manager at Royal Ahold.
Wouter Nijmeijer has a bachelor's degree in Accountancy from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, which they obtained from 1991 to 1995. Wouter also has a master's degree in Information Management from Nyenrode Business University, earned from 1995 to 1999. In addition, they have a post-graduate degree in Accountancy from NIVRA, completed in the same period. Furthermore, they completed a Chair program in the C25 at INSEAD in 2012 and 2013. Lastly, in 2018, they participated in the Ahold Delhaize leadership program from Purpose to Legacy at Harvard Business School.
