Kasun Sanjeewa Perera has a wealth of experience in the tech industry. Kasun Sanjeewa began their career in 2009 as an Instructor at the University of Colombo School of Computing. In 2010, they moved to the National University of Singapore as a Research Assistant. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Research Assistant and Graduate Student at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, where they focused on fraud detection in mobile advertising. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Research Associate at TU Dresden, where they built a system which supported efficient Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) querying. In 2016, they joined Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) as a Research Assistant, where they extracted information from heterogeneous sources such as scientific publications, web scraped data, and social networks. In 2018, they became an Entrepreneur at Entrepreneur First, as well as an Engineering Lead/Co-Founder at PinAlpha Pte Ltd. Kasun Sanjeewa also became a Startup Mentor at F10 Incubator & Accelerator, where they helped startups transform their ideas into successful companies. In 2020, they took on the role of Head of Data Science at Ai Palette.

Kasun Sanjeewa Perera has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computing and Information Sciences from Masdar Institute for Science and Technology, obtained between 2011 and 2013. Kasun Sanjeewa also has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from University of Colombo, obtained between 2005 and 2009. In addition, they have obtained four certifications from Coursera and DataCamp, including "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter Tuning, Regularization and Optimization" (2021), "Structuring Machine Learning Projects" (2021), "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" (2021), and "Introduction to Credit Risk Modeling in R" (2016).
