María Laguarda-Mallo

María Laguarda-Mallo, Ph.D., Assoc. AIA, currently serves on the AIA Editorial Committee at AIA Chicago and has been the Studio A100 Director at VIATechnik, LLC since April 2018. In this role, María builds and scales a high-performing, multi-site retail-focused studio, offering digital strategies to address complex customer problems. With extensive experience in academia, María has held various guest lecturer positions across several universities, including Harvard University Graduate School of Design and Northwestern University. María's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Bioproducts and Biosystems Science from the University of Minnesota, along with numerous degrees in architecture, interior design, and education from institutions in Uruguay, emphasizing a robust foundation in sustainable building practices and management.
