Kim L. Hunt, MUPP, MPP

Kim L. Hunt, MUPP, MPP has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Kim L. worked at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago as the Executive Director of the Pride Action Tank and Senior Director of Policy & Advocacy Operations. In this role, they oversaw the activities of the Pride Action Tank, addressing social determinants that influence the HIV/AIDS epidemic within LGBTQ+ communities. Kim L. also served as a Facilitator for the Chicago cohort of the Aspen Young Leaders Fellowship at The Aspen Institute, where they identified and cultivated future generations of leaders.

Kim's experience includes being a Political Columnist for Fop Magazine, a Gay-Centric Men's Fashion and Lifestyle Magazine, where they contributed to candid dialogues and portrayed gay culture. Kim L. also served as the Executive Director of Affinity Community Services and as Co-Founder & Managing Partner at O-H Community Partners, Ltd. Additionally, they ran their own consulting company, KLH Consulting Services.

Early in their career, Kim worked as a Researcher for the Kwazulu-Natal Department of Transport and as a Fund Development Assistant at Chicago Communities in Schools. Kim L. also has extensive experience at the Chicago Transit Authority, where they held various positions. Kim L.'saccomplishments at the authority include grant writing, program design, project management, and overseeing the production of the organization's first graphics manual in 20 years.

Kim L. Hunt earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism & Mass Communications from Iowa State University, where they studied from 1980 to 1984. Kim L. then pursued a Master's Degree in Urban Planning & Policy at the University of Illinois Chicago from 1985 to 1987. Kim L. furthered their education by completing a Master's Degree program at the Harris School for Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago from 2002 to 2004.
