Carlos Ruiz

Carlos Ruiz has a diverse and extensive work experience. Carlos currently holds the position of Distinguished Engineer at AiFi Inc., specializing in AI and real-time systems. Prior to this, Carlos worked as the Director of New Technology at AiFi Inc., where they were responsible for overseeing the development of new technologies. Carlos also gained experience as a Research Scientist Intern at AiFi Inc., where they proposed a novel sensor fusion framework for product prediction.

In terms of their educational background, Carlos pursued a PhD in Sensor Fusion and Heterogeneous Sensing at Carnegie Mellon University. During this time, their research focused on object identification using camera and sensor combinations.

Carlos was also involved in research and development during their time as a Software Engineer Intern at Nest, where they worked on developing a ground-truth collection framework for localization technologies.

Additionally, Carlos has experience as an undergraduate researcher at the University of California, Riverside. Here, they contributed to the development of an Android app for location identification using camera, accelerometer, and gyroscope data. Carlos also worked on researching and analyzing performance data for a single-channel full-duplex radio communications system using FPGAs.

Carlos Ruiz completed their education in a chronological manner. Carlos first attended Colegio San Viator in Madrid from 2000 to 2010, where they completed their Bachillerato degree with a focus on Science and Technology. From 2010 to 2014, Carlos attended Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Telecommunications Engineering. In 2012, they participated in an international exchange program at the University of California, Riverside, studying Computer Science and Electrical Engineering for one year. Starting in 2014 and continuing until 2019, Carlos pursued further education at Carnegie Mellon University. During this time, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the same field.
