Mary M Lucas is a Research Fellow at AIM-AHEAD Consortium. Previously, Mary M has worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Drexel University College of Computing & Informatics and as a Course Facilitator at Boston University Metropolitan College. With a background in nursing and physics, Mary has also held positions as a Registered Nurse in various healthcare settings and as a Physics Lecturer at Moi University. Mary holds a PhD in Information Science from Drexel University, an MS in Computer Information Systems from Boston University, and degrees in nursing and physics from Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing and Moi University, respectively.

The National Institutes of Health’s Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM-AHEAD) program has established mutually beneficial, coordinated, and trusted partnerships to enhance the participation and representation of researchers and communities currently underrepresented in the development of AI/ML models and to improve the capabilities of this emerging technology, beginning with electronic health records (EHR) and extending to other diverse data to address health disparities and inequities.
