James Merlevede

James Merlevede is an experienced finance professional specializing in mortgage investments and real estate debt. Currently serving as a Portfolio Manager for Mortgages at Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) since April 2023, James has previously held significant roles at QuadReal Property Group, including Vice President and Director of US Real Estate Debt, from April 2019 to April 2023. Prior to that, James worked as an Analyst in Mortgage Investments at BCI and as an Associate and Assistant Manager at Canada Life. James began the career as an Investment Analyst at Colliers. Academically, James holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies in Architecture from Dalhousie University, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from the University of Manitoba.
