Jana Prete

Jana Prete serves as the Associate General Counsel and Managing Director of Real Estate & Mortgages at Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) since April 2021. Prior to this role, Jana was a Partner at Bennett Jones from December 2015 to December 2020, where extensive legal expertise was provided in corporate commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, and energy-related matters. Jana negotiated and drafted various agreements, including asset and share purchase agreements and joint venture agreements. Previously, Jana was also a Partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP from July 2004 to December 2015, representing clients such as KUFPEC Canada Inc. in significant transactions. Jana holds an LLB from the University of Alberta and a BA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Calgary.
