John Barry

John Barry serves as the Chairman of the Air Force Historical Foundation since May 2024, following a notable tenure as CEO/President of Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum from January 2017 to February 2025. During this period, John established a strategic plan achieving an 87% success rate, significantly increased visitor numbers, and expanded membership. John's leadership facilitated major renovations, including a $7 million project and negotiations for multiple multimillion-dollar developments. Prior to this, John served as CEO/President of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, achieving a 25% increase in youth participation, and as District Superintendent for Aurora Public Schools, where graduation rates and standardized test scores improved under John's strategic guidance. A retired Major General of the United States Air Force, John held numerous leadership roles and received extensive training, including a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs and Political Science from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma.
