Sahan Perera

Sahan Perera, Ph.D., currently serves as a Scientist II at Air Liquide, where the focus is on evaluating various solid bulk materials utilized across multiple industries, including semiconductor, health, and clean energy. Prior to this role, Sahan was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Berkeley Lab, concentrating on ultrafast charge transfer dynamics in light-sensitize materials to enhance light harvesting efficiency. Previous experience includes a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, studying the catalytic cracking of hydrocarbon fuels for air-breathing propulsion systems, and a Visual Merchandiser role at Costco Wholesale. Sahan's educational background includes a Ph.D. and an MSc in Materials Chemistry from the University of Saskatchewan, along with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry, Ceylon. Teaching assistant roles at both the University of Saskatchewan and the Institute of Chemistry, Ceylon, highlight Sahan’s commitment to education and student engagement.
