Russ Smethwick

Russ Smethwick is currently the Vice President of Corporate Development at Air Transport Services Group. Russ has over fifteen years of experience in the transportation industry, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions.

Smethwick began their career as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Provident Financial Group. In this role, they were responsible for managing a portfolio of loans and providing analysis of credit risk. Russ then transitioned to Air Transport Services Group, where they took on the role of Manager of Mergers and Acquisitions. In this role, they successfully developed a robust pipeline of acquisition targets, supported acquisitions through strategic analysis and financial modeling, and coordinated due diligence and post-closing integration.

In their current role as Vice President of Corporate Development, Smethwick is responsible for leading the company’s M&A activities, including identifying, evaluating and executing on potential acquisition opportunities. Russ also oversees the company’s business development initiatives and provides strategic guidance to senior management on growth opportunities.

Russ Smethwick completed their MBA at Xavier University and their BBA in Accounting at Ohio University. Russ is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the Accountancy Board of Ohio.
