Xinyu Zhang

Xinyu (Sean) Zhang is a highly experienced software engineer with a diverse background in both engineering and software development. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Airbnb since June 2023, Xinyu has previously held senior positions at Lyra Health and Robinhood, demonstrating expertise in software engineering from July 2019 to April 2023. As the founder of Octopus Studio, Xinyu developed a golf swing analyzer app, engaging with golf players and range owners to identify their needs. Prior experience includes significant contributions to Google’s HTML5 video player and live streaming features for YouTube, as well as software engineering for Amazon's Order Processing Engine. Xinyu holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UCLA, specializing in process simulation, optimization, and control, along with a Bachelor's degree in Control Engineering from Zhejiang University.
