Martica Wakeman has a diverse work experience ranging from teaching in inner-city schools to co-founding a sustainable sanitation product company called Sanikind. As the Head of People Operations at Aircapture, they are creating and scaling a circular carbon economy, installing modular Direct Air Capture units that create a direct supply of clean CO2 into customers' manufacturing processes. At MAHA Global, they worked as a Director of Impact and Client Services and spearheaded data capture and capacity building workshops in urban areas. Martica also worked as a consultant for impact strategy and community engagement at Sanikind. As a Business Development and Project Manager at Root Camp UK, Martica built partnerships, designed KPIs, and rebranded the website to create value for the target audience. As an Inner City Public School Teacher in Boston from 2012 to 2015, they worked full-time and tutored high-risk students to help them graduate.
Martica Wakeman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media & Society, Sociology, and Public Service from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, obtained in 2009. Martica also pursued a Postgraduate Certificate of Sustainable Business Management at the University of Cambridge in 2017, and a Masters of Science in Environment and Sustainable Development from The Bartlett Development Planning Unit, UCL in 2018. In 2019, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Hult International Business School, with a focus on CSR and Disruptive Innovation. Additionally, they are a certified yoga instructor, having completed a 200-hour certification program with Yoga Alliance in February 2010. Martica also attended Landmark from 2011 to 2019, but it is unclear what degree or field of study they pursued there.
