Brett Ross has over 30 years of work experience in various engineering and project management roles. Brett started their career in the Royal Australian Air Force as an Advanced Avionics Technician, maintaining avionics systems within the F/A-18 Hornet Aircraft. After leaving the military, Brett worked as an Electronics Design Engineer for Boeing Australia, where they provided engineering solutions support to the Defence Science and Technology Organisation. Brett then joined Innovonics Ltd as an Electronics Design Engineer, specializing in the development of electronics devices for military and fleet applications. Brett later worked as an Engineering Manager for Tectonica Australia Pty Ltd, where they developed electro-mechanical devices for Defence and heavy industry. Brett also served as the Chief Engineer for Australian Private Networks Pty Ltd, overseeing the development and rollout of a product for the Indigenous Communication Program. Brett was then appointed as the Director of Sicosy Pty Ltd, a company providing engineering and project management services to various organizations. Brett also worked as the Chief Engineer for Renewable Energy Solutions Australia, leading the design and development of power conversion products. Most recently, Brett worked as the Project Technical Lead for Airservices Australia, where they supported the OneSKY Air Traffic Management modernisation Program. Throughout their career, Brett has demonstrated expertise in program management, systems integration, and technical leadership.

Brett Ross's education history includes earning a Certificate III in Outdoor Leadership from Scouts Australia Institute of Training from 2020 to 2023. Additionally, they completed a program in Architecture & Systems Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the University of Southern Queensland between 1995 and 2001. Earlier in their education, they attended the RAAF School Of Radio from 1987 to 1989 and the Western Metropolitan College of TAFE, where they earned an Associate Diploma of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
