Kola Sonola Fcii

Kola Sonola has a successful career in the IT industry, accumulating extensive experience in various leadership roles. Kola started their career at HP as a Program Manager from 2000 to 2005. Kola then joined Ghana Telecom as the Head of Project Management Office and IT Service Support from 2005 to 2006. Following that, they worked at NLNG as a Consultant Program Manager for Commercial Projects in 2006-2007. Kola then moved on to Zain Nigeria, where they served as the Head of Strategy & Enterprise Program Management Office, Networks from 2007 to 2008. Kola continued their career at Zain Ghana as the Launch & Program Management Office Director in 2008-2009. Kola Sonola then joined Zain Group as the Technical Director for Business Transformation and Program Management Office in 2009-2010. Kola also worked at Airtel Ghana Limited where they held multiple positions, including Director of Mobile Money and Director of Strategy, Business Development, and PMO. Kola was later appointed as the Vice President of Information Technology and Director of Business Transformation and Program Management Office. In 2015, they transitioned to Airtel Africa as the VP of IT Portfolio and Release Management and eventually assumed the role of VP of Information Technology for the Nigeria and Ghana Cluster. Throughout these positions, Kola Sonola has demonstrated their expertise in IT management and project delivery.

Kola Sonola FCII, PMP, PR has a diverse education history. In 1979-1984, they attended Mayflower School Ikenne. Later on in 1986-1990, they obtained a B.Sc degree in Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University. In 1995-1997, they pursued a PGD Management Studies at the University of Westminster. In 2002-2003, Kola completed a PGC in Project Management from George Washington University. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2003. In 2009, Kola received a Fellow (FCMI) certification from the Chartered Management Institute. Additionally, they acquired certifications in SIX SIGMA GREEN BELT - CSSGB, PRINCE2™ (Projects IN Controlled Environments), and MSP™ - Managing Successful Programmes.
