Karla Sánchez Hurtado

Karla Sánchez Hurtado has over a decade of experience in the clinical research field. Karla started their career at MDS Pharma Services as a Clinical Data Validator and later became a Clinical Data Manager Coordinator. Karla then joined ICON plc, where they served as a Senior Clinical Data Coordinator, Clinical Data Lead, and eventually as a Senior Clinical Data Lead. During their time at ICON plc, they gained experience in various therapeutic areas, including Oncology, ImmunoOncology, Cardiovascular, Inflammation, Neuroscience, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Erectile Dysfunction, and Pediatrics. Karla also worked at DOCS as a Senior Clinical Data Manager, where they led all Data Management activities for the Translational Clinical Oncology team focusing on Phase I studies. Currently, they are employed at AIXIAL GROUP as a Project Manager, utilizing their cross-functional clinical trials expertise to provide team coordination, project planning, financial management, risk and issue management, and client management support.

Karla Sánchez Hurtado completed their education with a Licenciatura in Biología - Biotecnología from Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 1998 to 2003. Karla then pursued a PhD in Medical Microbiology at The University of Edinburgh from 2004 to 2008. In addition, they obtained a certification in the Programa Especializado - Introduction to Project Management Principles and Practices from Coursera in 2015.
