Paschalis Lagias

Paschalis Lagias has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Paschalis currently works as a Data Scientist at Zinia, where they are responsible for prototyping and testing machine learning models, developing and testing machine learning pipelines, and software development of product AI backend. Paschalis has achieved improved product functionality with LSTM neural networks.

In addition, Paschalis works as a Teaching Assistant at Birkbeck, University of London, delivering data science tutorials and providing student support with programming in Python and Java.

Paschalis also has experience as a Land Surveyor/Monitoring Engineer at BAM Nuttall Ltd, where they were responsible for monitoring system testing, monitoring data management and reporting, and deformation surveys of track, tunnels, and surface structures.

Paschalis began their career as a Junior Land Surveyor at Site Engineering Surveys and later worked as an Assistant Land Surveyor/Survey Data Processor at Plowman Craven. Paschalis also completed an internship as an Engineering Surveyor at Sidirodromika Erga.

Paschalis Lagias has a strong educational background in data science and related fields. Paschalis obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Data Science from Birkbeck, University of London, from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Geographic Information Science (GIS) from UCL in 2011. Paschalis also holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Land and Engineering Surveying from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), which they completed from 2001 to 2008.
