Darwin Richardson

Darwin Richardson joined the leadership team in June 2018, bringing over 25 years of leadership and executive management in quality operation, regulatory compliance and manufacturing operations in bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing. At Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services, he is responsible for the US operations and driving performance measures at the San Diego facilities.

Mr. Richardson previously served as Senior Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs at BPL Plasma (Austin, TX), directing corporate quality operations across 39 donor centers. In 2014, Mr. Richardson joined Sanofi Genzyme as the Vice President of Quality. Serving as site head, he was responsible for managing and leading the Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, Quality Control Labs, Quality Validation and Compliance groups.

Prior to Sanofi, Mr. Richardson held quality and operations positions of increasing responsibility at Shire (formerly, Baxalta, Baxter Healthcare) for over 10 years at both the Thousand Oaks and Los Angeles, California facilities. During this time, he served on site leadership teams as Plant Manager and Sr. Director of Manufacturing, responsible for site and manufacturing operations for cell culture manufacturing, purification, aseptic processing and packaging, as well as site Quality Head responsible for Quality Operations, driving compliance and culture improvement.

Mr. Richardson began his career in research and development working in vitro diagnostics at Medical Analysis Systems (Fisher Scientific) and Bio-Rad Laboratories.

Mr. Richardson holds a MBA from the University of La Verne and a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from California State University, Fullerton.
