Jan Ivar Nielsen

Jan Ivar Nielsen is a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience in the maritime and renewable energy sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at Aker Horizons since September 2020, Nielsen contributes to the development and operation of renewable energy and low carbon technologies. Prior to this role, Nielsen held the position of General Manager at Aker Ghana Industrial Corporation from August 2019 to August 2020, and served as Chief Financial Officer at Philly Shipyard, Inc. from October 2015 to August 2019. Previous experience includes leadership roles as EVP & CFO at Vard Holdings Ltd. and various CFO positions at Aker American Shipping ASA, Kværner ASA, and their subsidiaries. Nielsen's educational background includes an EMBA from the Fox School of Business at Temple University, a Siviløkonom degree from Nord University, and a Dh Kandidat in Accounting from the University of Agder.
