Brian Collins

Brian Collins has extensive work experience in weight control engineering. Brian started their career in 1989 as a Technical Apprentice at Shorts Brothers PLC, where they gained experience in weighing aircraft and calculating production drawings. Brian then worked at Bombardier for over 20 years, holding various roles such as Weights Engineer, Senior Weights Engineer, and Principal Mass Properties Engineer. During their time at Bombardier, they were involved in weight estimation, preparation of weight status reports, and derivation of target, estimated, and guaranteed weights. Brian also worked at CB&I as a Principal Weight Control Engineer and at Jaguar Land Rover as an Engineering Specialist focusing on weights. Brian further worked at Group Lotus plc and KBR (UK), where they held lead weights engineering roles. Most recently, they worked at BAE Systems Maritime – Naval Ships as a Principal Weights Engineer and at Airbus Defence and Space as a Lead Weight Specialist Engineer. Brian Collins is currently working at Aker Solutions as a Principal Weight Control Engineer.

Brian Collins attended BIFHE from 1989 to 1995 where they obtained an HND in Mechanical Engineering. Brian also studied Mechanical & Production Engineering at O.N.C. However, the duration and degree obtained at O.N.C are unknown.
