Haakon Helgesen has a strong background in the energy industry, with a focus on CCUS, hydrogen production, and subsea engineering. Haakon is currently serving as the SVP of CCUS & Hydrogen at Aker Solutions, where they lead the business unit and is responsible for operations, technology integration, partnerships, and project execution. Prior to this role, Haakon held the position of SVP PMO & Project Execution at Aker Solutions, overseeing renewables projects. Haakon also worked at Gen2 Energy as the Executive Vice President of Project Development, where they focused on green hydrogen production. Before that, Haakon had various leadership roles at TechnipFMC and FMC Technologies, including Vice President of Global Front End & System Engineering, Vice President of Europe Africa Commercial, and Director of Eastern Region Sales & Marketing. Haakon has extensive experience in project management, sales, and business development in the subsea sector. Haakon started their career as a Senior System Engineer at Aker Solutions and FMC Technologies, specializing in subsea engineering.
Haakon Helgesen's education history includes completing several executive education programs at Harvard Business School. In 2019, they participated in the Authentic Leader Development program and also received a Certificate of Management Excellence. In 2016, they attended two executive education programs at Harvard Business School: one focused on negotiation and competitive decision making, and the other on aligning strategy and sales. In 2015, they completed the Program for Leadership Development (PLD21), an alternative to an Executive MBA. Prior to their Harvard programs, Haakon attended BI Norwegian Business School in 2013 for an Executive Short Program on Strategy in Action.
