Ola Rønsen has extensive work experience in the field of sports medicine and healthcare. Ola started their career in 1991 as a Sports Medicine Physician and Researcher at the Norwegian Olympic Sports Center, where they worked until 2004. During this time, they also served as a visiting professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch from 2004 to 2006. From 2006 to 2013, Ola Rønsen worked as a Sports Medicine Physician and Chief Medical Officer for Olympic Teams at the Norwegian Olympic Sports Center. In 2013, they joined Aker Solutions as the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Aker Care. Ola was responsible for developing Aker Care into the best employee health service in Norway and implementing these elements globally.
Ola Rønsen has an extensive education history. In 1975, they obtained their High School Diploma from Drew Central High School. Ola then pursued a Bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock from 1977 to 1978. Ola later attended the University of Washington from 1978 to 1981, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Psychology. Continuing their education, they enrolled at the University of Oslo from 1981 to 1987, earning a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in Medicine. Ola also obtained a Doctor of Medicine (Ph.D.) in Exercise Medicine from the University of Oslo between 1998 and 2002. Furthermore, they have obtained additional certifications, including an MD PhD from the University of Oslo in 1987 and a Sports Medicine Physician certification from Norsk Idrettsmedisinsk Forening in 2001.
