Doreen Chan

Doreen Chan, Ph.D., serves as a Principal Clinical Research Scientist at Akero Therapeutics since June 2022, previously holding the position of Senior Clinical Research Scientist. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Scientist at Medtronic from September 2020 to June 2022, focusing on Diabetes and Sensor R&D. Earlier, Doreen worked as a Research Associate in the Appel Lab at Stanford University from September 2015 to September 2020 while pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry, which was awarded in 2020. Doreen also gained experience as an R&D Intern at Seed Health and as a Research Intern at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research. Doreen's early research experience includes academic internships at California Institute of Technology from June 2012 to March 2015. Education includes a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Chemistry from Caltech and a high school diploma from Huntingtown High School.
