Business Process Consultant (IM/IT Validation Software Manager) at Akima Data Management

Austin Jones has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Austin started their career as a Motor Transportation Supervisor and Tactical Vehicle Dispatcher in the United States Marine Corps, where they were responsible for inspecting, organizing, and ensuring the readiness of tactical vehicles for field operations. Austin also managed transportation logistics for offsite training events, including organizing fuel, water, generators, and communication equipment.

After leaving the military, Austin joined Microsoft as a student of the Microsoft Software & Systems Academy (MSSA), where they underwent intensive training in cloud computing, cloud security, and network analysis. Austin also gained hands-on experience with virtual machines and group policy updates.

Following their time at Microsoft, Austin worked at Feditc LLC as a Tier 2 Customer Service Support Technician. In this role, they troubleshooted, resolved, and prevented issues for the Defense Health Agency, including installing and configuring workstations, printers, and laptops. Austin also managed Active Directory, resolved certificate issues, and ensured workstation security.

Most recently, Austin worked at Akima Data Management as a Business Process Consultant, specializing in IM/IT Validation Software Management. Austin was responsible for receiving, validating, and processing software contracts for the Defense Health Agency. Austin also served as the technical lead for multiple software accounts, including Adobe Connect, Minitab, and AutoDesk.

Austin Jones obtained a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management with a focus on MSSA Cybersecurity Administrator from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2019. In the same year, they also received additional certifications, including Microsoft Software & Systems Academy Cybersecurity Administrator from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People from FranklinCovey, 5 Choices of Extraordinary Productivity from FranklinCovey, and MTA: 98-367 Security Fundamentals from Microsoft.
