John Otto

Vice President, Construction Management at Akridge

John Otto is a highly experienced professional with over 20 years of work experience in the construction management field. JOHN began their career in 1993 as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer in the US Navy, where they served in various roles such as Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction and Customer Liaison Officer/Shop Engineer. In these positions, they managed government construction projects, directed field office operations, and prioritized facility maintenance and construction. In 1998, they joined Himes Associates, Ltd. as a Project Manager, responsible for the execution and delivery of multiple construction projects. JOHN then transitioned to Akridge in 2002, where they currently hold the position of Vice President of Construction Management. In this role, they oversee various project types and leads project teams consisting of stakeholders within the organization. John Otto's expertise lies in base building new construction, building repositioning, tenant improvements, and capital improvements.

John Otto attended The George Washington University from 1989 to 1993, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications such as WELL AP from Green Business Certification, Inc. in November 2016, and LEED ID+C from the same institution in November 2008.
