Denise Aartsen

Denise Aartsen is a seasoned womenswear designer with extensive experience in the fashion industry, currently serving as Senior Womenswear Designer at Akris since September 2016. Prior to this role, Denise worked as a freelance designer at Stills Atelier, contributing to the Fall '16 collection, and held positions at VIKTOR&ROLF in both haute couture and ready-to-wear, where responsibilities included embroidery and quality checks. Experience also includes serving as a design assistant at JOHN ROCHA, where contributions involved concept research and garment design. Early career roles encompassed freelance design at Givenchy, assistant design at Maison Martin Margiela, and a designer role at Individuals, highlighting expertise in pattern making and collection development. Denise holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion/Apparel Design from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute, completed between 2005 and 2009.
