Akron Zoo
Emily Kocis serves as a Horticulturist at Akron Zoo since December 2022, focusing on maintaining and creating planting spaces while implementing invasive management practices. Previously, as a Senior Environmental Scientist at Davey Resource Group, Inc. from April 2019 to December 2022, Emily restored native habitats, conducted endangered species surveys, and developed a field guide for native species and noxious weeds. Additional experience includes serving as a Receptionist at Penitentiary Glen and working as a Veterinary Assistant at Animal Medical Center of Streetsboro, where Emily gained hands-on skills in animal care. Emily holds a Bachelor's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from Kent State University, earned in December 2017.
