Eleda Fernald

Horticulturist at Hagley Museum & Library

Eleda Fernald is an experienced horticulturist currently employed at Hagley Museum and Library since December 2023. Previously, Eleda served as an Assistant Land Stewardship Technician at Longwood Gardens, where responsibilities included invasive species removal and participating in large-scale tree plantings. As a Thomas J. Watson Fellow at the Watson Foundation, Eleda conducted independent research on the music and pedagogical techniques of percussion traditions across multiple countries. Additional experience includes roles as a Writing Tutor and Interviewer at Pioneer Academics, a NASA DEVELOP Earth Science Researcher, and a Coastal Modeling Intern at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, where Eleda contributed to significant research and publication in climate studies. Eleda holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Oberlin College, completed in 2020.
