Suzie O'Shea has a work experience that spans several companies and roles. Suzie started their career in 2006 as a Project Coordinator at Foróige, where they worked until 2011. Suzie then joined Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society as a Group Leader for the Culturally Relevant Urban Wellness Program in 2015. In 2012, Suzie joined The University of British Columbia, initially as a Program Assistant for the Drop In Computer Program and later as a Community Animator and Programme Coordinator for the UBC Learning Exchange. Currently, they are a Responsible Business Executive at A&L Goodbody LLP, starting in 2022.
Suzie O'Shea has a diverse education history with a focus on youth and community studies, social care, entrepreneurship, and indigenous education. Suzie obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Social Care from Waterford Institute of Technology from 2002 to 2006. Suzie then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Youth and Community Studies at Brunel University London from 2009 to 2011.
In terms of further education and certifications, Suzie enrolled in various courses and programs. In 2015, they completed a program on Indigenous Reconciliation and Relationships at Simon Fraser University. Suzie also participated in several Indigenous Education courses and certifications at The University of British Columbia, including an online course in 2017 and online certification in the same year. In 2016, they engaged in a Place-Based Learning program in Huu-Ay-Aht Territory and another course on Indigenous Education. Moreover, Suzie acquired a QQI Level 6 Training, Delivery and Evaluation certification from Fusion Training in 2019.
To complement their education, Suzie obtained a certification as a C&G Credited Bicycle Mechanic from CITY AND GUILDS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED (INCORPORATED IN THE UNITED KINGDOM) in January 2019.
