Tara Kangarlou

Tara Kangarlou is a Board Member at the International Women's Media Foundation since June 2023 and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service since July 2022. As a Member of the Board of Advisors for MedGlobal since April 2019, Kangarlou has also been the Founder and President of Art of Hope since September 2016, which focuses on the mental health of refugees and internally displaced individuals through art therapy. Additionally, Kangarlou has been a Reporter and Contributor for Al-Monitor covering MENA-related topics since December 2014, and a Frequent Contributor to The Huffington Post since October 2011. Past journalistic roles include positions at Al Jazeera America from 2015 to December 2017, and CNN from November 2012 to July 2014. Kangarlou holds a Master's degree in Journalism-Broadcast from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in English (World Literature) from UCLA.
