Alex Harris

Deputy Executive Director For Adult Education at Alabama Community College System

Alex Harris has extensive experience in the field of adult education. From 2002 to 2010, they worked as a Transition Advisor at Clinton Community School District. They then joined Eastern Iowa Community College in 2010 as a Transition Coordinator until 2012. From 2012 to 2022, Alex served as the State Director for Adult Education at the Iowa Department of Education. Currently, they hold the position of Deputy Executive Director for Adult Education at the Alabama Community College System.

Alex Harris completed a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Wollongong from 1998 to 2000. In 2001 and 2002, they attended Western Illinois University where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General. From 2015 to 2017, Alex pursued higher education and earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a focus on Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Additionally, in January 2019, they obtained a certification as a volunteer for the Designers for Learning Evaluation Sprint from Designers for Learning.
