Robert has been working at the Alabama Department of Public Health since February 2007, initially as an IT Manager and later as a Sr. Programmer Analyst. Additionally, Robert has been with the Millbrook Fire Department since November 1995, serving as a Captain and Fire Investigator. In the past, Robert worked as a Flight Paramedic at Air Evac Lifeteam. Robert is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Emergency Services Management at Columbia Southern University, after completing a Bachelor's degree in Fire Science Administration. Robert also holds an Associate's degree in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician and a high school diploma from Robert E. Lee High School.

The purpose of the Alabama Department of Public Health is to provide public health "services for the improvement and protection of the public’s health through disease prevention and the assurance of public health services to resident and transient populations of the state regardless of social circumstances or the ability to pay."
