Robert Lawrence

Robert (Bob) Lawrence, MA, CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE, CCEP, CCSA has a strong background in internal audit, compliance, and financial management. Robert (Bob) has held various leadership roles throughout their career, including Senior Director of Internal Audit and Compliance at Alamos Gold Inc. and Director of Internal Audit at KIK Custom Products. In their roles, they have led teams in conducting financial, operational, IT/IS, fraud, and regulatory audits. Robert (Bob) has also served as a volunteer mentor for CA/CPA candidates at CPA Ontario and as Chief Auditor for a rate-regulated electrical utility at FortisAlberta. Additionally, Bob has held unpaid volunteer positions as Chief Financial Officer of Early Music Voices and as a music judge for the Calgary Stampede Parade. Robert (Bob) has also provided budget oversight and instruction at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Robert (Bob) Lawrence holds an impressive education history in various fields. Robert (Bob) obtained a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Calgary in 1988 and later pursued a Master of Arts degree in Musicology from the same institution between 1988 and 1991. In 1996 and 1997, Lawrence received a Diploma in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Continuing their education, they obtained a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation from CMA Alberta in 2003.

Lawrence's commitment to professional development is demonstrated through their numerous certifications. Robert (Bob) earned the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation from the Institute of Internal Auditors in 2006 and the Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA) in 2009. In 2010, Lawrence became a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Robert (Bob) added further expertise in accounting by completing a Certificate in IFRS from CMA Ontario in 2011. Lawrence expanded their knowledge in compliance and ethics by obtaining certification as a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) in 2016.

To complement their extensive education, Lawrence also holds additional certifications, including being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from CPA Ontario since 2014 and an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) from CIMA since 2011.
