Carlos Varela da Costa

Carlos Varela da Costa has extensive work experience in the financial industry. Carlos is currently the Managing Director of Business Development at Alantra, a position they have held since 2022. Previously, they worked at J.P. Morgan Asset Management for over two decades. Their roles at J.P. Morgan included Head of Solutions and Product Innovation, Sustainable Investing from April 2020 to August 2021, Managing Director and Head of Institutional Clients, Latin America from July 2018 to April 2020, Managing Director and Head of LatAm Sovereigns from July 2015 to April 2020, and Executive Director and Head of Sales Iberia from January 2009 to July 2015. Within J.P. Morgan, they also held various other positions, such as Senior Client Relationship Manager and Client Portfolio Manager, focusing on sales, client relationships, and portfolio management.

Carlos Varela da Costa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid between 1992 and 1997.
