Jacob Kelly

Medical Director, Advanced Heart Failure & Cardiac Transplant at Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute

Jacob Kelly has worked in the medical field since 2008. Jacob began their career at UT-Southwestern as a Residency and Chief Medicine Resident. In 2012, they moved to Duke University Health System, where they served as a Clinical Cardiology Fellow and an Advanced Heart Failure Fellow, managing and learning to lead a team-based approach to caring for heart failure patients with complex comorbidities and all levels of severity. In 2014, they took on a Cardiology Research Fellow role at Duke Clinical Research Institute. In 2017, they joined Alaska Heart Institute as Medical Director, Advanced Heart Failure & Cardiac Transplant, as well as Advanced Heart Failure & Cardiac Transplant and Consulting Coordinator, Heart Failure Program.

Jacob Kelly obtained their B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from Texas Tech University in 2002. Jacob then attended the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where they earned their MD in 2008. Afterward, they completed their residency in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2011. In 2014, they obtained their MHS from Duke University School of Medicine through the Clinical Research Training Program. In addition, they obtained certifications in Wasserman Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing from Harbor-UCLA in 2014, Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2011, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2018, and Cardiovascular Disease from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2015.
