Elena Navas

Elena Navas has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In their current position as a Project Manager at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC), they serve as the main point of contact for projects and coordinates with different programs. Elena also collects and inputs facility deficiency information and develops scopes of work for planning, design, and construction phases. Elena collaborates with communities to develop sanitation facility master plans, identifies new projects based on need, and secures project funding.

Prior to their current role, Elena worked as a Field Engineer at the Indian Health Service, where they conducted site visits to assess the water and wastewater infrastructure needs of Native Americans. Elena prepared engineering designs for construction projects, performed environmental impact evaluations, and created plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Elena's experience also includes serving as a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Volunteer with the Peace Corps. In this role, they conducted community analyses to identify water and sanitation needs and developed a development plan in collaboration with community members. Elena wrote technical project reports and grant proposals for infrastructure projects benefiting multiple communities, including designing spring-catchment boxes, transmission lines, and distribution systems.

Additionally, Elena has worked as an Assistant Project Manager at EIFFAGE CONSTRUCTION RHONE LOIRE, where they compared plans for discrepancies and monitored budgets and progress. Elena also gained experience as a Geotechnical Engineering Intern at G2 Consulting Group, LLC, conducting field visits and performing lab tests on soil and concrete samples.

Before that, Elena worked as an Intern at the City of Des Plaines Engineering Department, where they evaluated sidewalks and crosswalks for compliance with accessibility standards, created a bike stress-level map, and documented street sign modifications.

Throughout their career, Elena has demonstrated strong project management, technical engineering, and community collaboration skills.

Elena Navas has a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Valparaiso University, which they completed from 2013 to 2018. In 2016 to 2017, they also attended Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC), where they obtained another Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
