Sonya L. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sonya started their career as a Student Intern at ASRC Energy Services, LLC, where they provided HR support for the Safety & Training Department and Fleet Management Department. Sonya then worked at Petro Star Inc. as a Retail Operations Intern, supporting the Retail Operations Team in pricing, data analysis, and store management.
Following that, Sonya joined Tanana Chiefs Conference as a Data Entry Specialist and GCA Services Group as an Administrative Assistant, where they provided HR support and managed records. Sonya then worked at Doyon, Limited as an HR Assistant II, responsible for new hire orientation, benefits administration, and office coordination. Sonya also served as an Accounting Administrative Assistant, supporting the Accounting & Finance Department and handling accounts payable tasks.
Sonya's next role was at Southcentral Foundation, where they held positions as a Human Resources Assistant, a Recruiting Assistant, and a Background & Credential Assistant. Their responsibilities included assisting with recruitment, maintaining employee records, and supporting background checks and credentials.
Sonya then joined the Municipality of Anchorage as a Senior Office Associate, where they worked on administrative tasks. Currently, Sonya is working at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) as a Benefits Administrator II. Sonya previously held roles as an Associate Benefits Administrator I and a Human Resources Specialist II at ANTHC.
Throughout their career, Sonya has gained experience in various aspects of human resources, administrative support, and office coordination.
Sonya L. began their education in 2006 when they obtained an Administrative Assistant Certificate from AVTEC, Alaska's Institute of Technology. In 2007, they furthered their studies at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and earned an Associate of Science degree in Applied Business - Administrative Management. During the same year, they also obtained an Administrative Assistant certification from the State of Alaska Department of Labor. Currently, Sonya L. is pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, with an expected completion date in the future.
