Alaska SeaLife Center
Laura Swihart Thacker has extensive experience in guest services and development, currently serving as Development and Guest Services Supervisor at the Alaska SeaLife Center since May 2021. Previously, Laura held various roles in guest services at the center, including Guest Services Supervisor and Lead. Prior experience includes a Management Trainee Intern position at Enterprise and working as a Guide at Adventure Quest. Laura also worked as a Dock Representative at EXPERIENCE ALASKA TOURS, where responsibilities included greeting tourists and managing customer service. Laura obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics from George Mason University, where education was completed at the Honors College, and participated in a study program at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2020.
Alaska SeaLife Center
The Alaska SeaLife Center generates and shares scientific knowledge to promote understanding and stewardship of Alaska's marine ecosystems. While primarily dedicated to marine research, the Center is the only permanent facility permitted to rescue and rehabilitate marine mammals and birds, and is the only public aquarium in the state of Alaska. The Alaska SeaLife Center is located on the shores of Resurrection Bay in beautiful Seward, Alaska. The facility is open year-round.
